Duck under the Japanese lanterns, descend a few steps and suddenly the noise and chaos of High Street Ken completely disappears. Konjiki, which translates from Japanese as "the colour of gold," opened in April 2025 and it is entirely family run. There is classic sushi, ramen, udon, unagi, tempura and katsu alongside things that feel a little more unexpected. This place is unhurried, beautiful, and completely untouched by the tourists queuing up outside the chains a hundred metres away.
